So I have been training for months, running at least once a week, getting ready for this years Autumn 10k wolf run with some of my Bowline Climbing Club buddies.
I’m personally not a runner so I find the whole training thing very painful, but months of consistent running at least once a week definitely paid off and I’m keen on continuing this type of cardio training.
Finally on the 8th September I have completed my second ever Wolf Run and it couldn’t have been move fun then finishing along with some awesome Bowliners.
I definitely recommend giving this a go as the running part is not as hard as it is broken down by the obstacles, and the obstacles themselves are awesome !!! It is also a nice excuse to get dirty and pretend to be a child in a muddy playground again XD
You can run this for a charity of your choice if you like and raise money that way as well for a good cause.
Below are some pictures from the event. I’ll upload some more soon.
I’m now considering doing another mud run called Tough Mudder, which is 8-10 mile run with 25 hardcore obstacles. That would be a huge step up as currently I’m running only 7 miles the most at one go. Sometimes with small walks in between. It’s a good challenge to set myself up for though. With consistent training I should be ready for it next year 😀
