I’ve planned (nor really successfully) my first ever road trip to camp at Lake District to hike Scafell Pike, but since some unfortunate circumstances have occurred on the way there, I have discovered a lovely village Seathwaite close to Coniston Water and hiked 3 other peaks there instead (Brown Pike at 682 MASL, Buck Pike at 744 MASL and Dow Crag at 778 MASL). Beautiful place and if the wind was not as strong as it was, literally pushing me from side to side and breaking out tent, the weather would have been perfect to hike to the top of The old Man of Coniston, which is the main peak there which stands at 803 MASL.
We have visited the local pub which again had some amazing views in between the hills, and there is just loads places you can go and explore if you like to hike and enjoy the outdoors for it’s pure beauty.
I will definitely come back there to get to the top of the Old Man and visit the lovely Turner Hall Farm camp side as the owners there were so helpful and welcoming, and the place was just stunning and peaceful.
